Vanessa de la Llama is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with adolescents and young adults with ADHD, Anxiety & Depression. Vanessa obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and graduated Cum Lade. Following that, Vanessa pursued a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master’s Degree in Communications from Florida International University. During her programs, she completed her clinical internship at Larkin Community Hospital, working in psychiatric inpatient, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)  with patients with severe and recurring mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia and personality disorders. Vanessa also published academic articles focusing on psychological motives within the hiring process and gender/LGTBQ issues.

 

In her 10 years of practice, Vanessa has completed extensive clinical training in child and adolescent psychotherapy, which includes facilitation of family therapy and group therapy. Her license/certification in child and adult ADHD allows her to give comprehensive psychological services which helps individuals overcome challenges and excel academically and professionally. In her private practice, Vanessa is able to stretch and flex her passions by helping others process and comprehend emotional trauma, deal with the daily issues and complexities of ADHD, as well as be an extremely strong advocate to our LGBTQ/Trans community. The braveness and willingness Vanessa’s clients show during their sessions is what brings her to work and fulfills her on a daily basis.
